This list is my attempt to add structure to those resources and share them. Then there is the operational side of the business with each explaining how they use 0 trust/hardware keys, etc, and could not get phished, etc, etc. Given my kids will use what my wife and I choose, that adds another complexity to these evaluations.Īll seem on the surface to be more secure than lastpass but if one is trying to mitigate brute forcing a master password when a vault was stolen, it gets complicated fast with terms like key derivation functions like Argon2 vs PBKDF2 vs entropy keys added to the master password. Unfortunately, dashlane doesn't support Yubikeys on firefox otherwise I would probably use it. Dashlane is an example of that so I use the notes area to put my own tags that I can search on to bring up similar sites. some only provide a few tags or categories with no ability to create your own. I would like the ability to create tags/folder/categories (just need one). Testing on linux and mac and ios with 2FA including Yubikey's. Attachments don't transfer of course within secure notes. All tests thus far seem to have NO issue with the export of 100's of accounts, notes, etc from lastpass to them.
Have been putting a few of them through a various tests. All recoverable via the 1Password history but required more care and a little frustrating when learning a new password manager. So that added a bit of extra time to change a password IMHO and I had a few sites locked out because the vault had a different password than what the website had. now I could be out of sync if not careful if I went back.
then I would run into problems with the smart password provided/recommended not working when I hit the save button to change the website password. It always seemed to update 1Password first and cover the website save button. update website with new password then 1Password should update. It was a little clunky IMO with password changes and I much prefer the right mouse context menu style like lastpass and dashlane utilize for password generation vs the 3 clicks with 1Password required via the toolbar when things don't work as planned for some sites. I had some problems with password updates with 1Password on some problem sites so still evaluating choices and deleted my 1Password vault after 2 days. NFC also works on my iphone with my yubikey 5 and 1Password.
